Behind The Lens.
Behind the Lens is the travel photography blog of Annie Greevenbosch and Luke Dokic - fine art photographers and storytellers featured in National Geographic and BBC.
From portrait series in the backstreets of Albania to chasing dawn over Vietnam's misty rice terraces, we document the world one frame at a time. Here you'll find the stories, techniques, and creative decisions behind each image: the gear we carry, the conditions we shoot in, and the human moments that make travel photography worth pursuing. Whether you're a fellow photographer looking for inspiration, or simply someone who loves travel and visual storytelling, pull up a seat and stay a while.
Into the Nordic Freeze: Chasing Sweden’s Secret Cold Dips
Annie and I traveled to Stockholm in February 2025, eager to explore beyond the usual tourist trail. After wandering the city and visiting the ABBA Museum, we headed to Saltsjöbaden, a quiet coastal village in the Stockholm Archipelago. There, we experienced a true Nordic ritual: alternating between a hot sauna and plunging into near-freezing water, just above 1°C. The cold shocked the body, yet left us exhilarated, alive, and oddly peaceful. Standing on the pontoon, the still, glassy inlets of the archipelago stretched before us a serene, quiet world far from the city’s noise, unforgettable and utterly magical.
